BRINEKI NABINRAW I INVISIBLE WOUND
Is a powerful sculpture by Kurdish artist Hozan Zangana, created as part of his Sinjar project honoring Yazidi refugees who fled genocide in 2014. The work symbolizes the heavy, often unseen burden refugees carry their identity, culture, and trauma alongside their physical belongings. Made from recycled plastic, the sculpture also reflects on themes of value and disposability: plastic, once a symbol of progress, has become a global hazard, yet for refugees, plastic containers mean survival. By using recycled plastic from a Dutch pilot factory, Zangana highlights how society often devalues refugees, treating them as waste, while also reclaiming worth and dignity through art.
